Can quantum mechanics prove that we live in different realities to one another? We often attribute differences in the way we experience things to differences in perspective. But according to philosopher and founder of social epistemology, Steve Fuller, this is a radical mistake. He uses breakthroughs in neuroscience, quantum mechanics, and AI to demonstrate that we inhabit different worlds altogether. Tap here for Fuller’s full article. iai.tv/articles/we-do…

Does free will exist? In this debate, neuroscientist Robert Sapolsky examines the timeless philosophical question of free will and fate through a scientific lens. He takes a determinist perspective, arguing that because every decision is triggered by environmental stimuli and biological processes, it is impossible to “shoehorn” in the notion of freedom. Sapolsky also rejects "compatibilist" arguments which propose that free will and determinism can exist simultaneously. Join him alongside Lucy Allais and Paul Bloom to discuss whether our choices are free. iai.tv/video/freedom-…

Can a 5th-century Sanskrit classic mirror 20th-century tyranny? Shudraka’s immortal play Mricchakatika offers an uncanny, prophetic literary allegory of Indira Gandhi’s Emergency—where justice, power, and freedom clashed. Read the brilliant essay: dharmadispatch.in/mricchakatika-…

Astounding ignorance. No, they respond by engaging in disputation and, sometimes, violent sectarian conflict to establish their own denominations in line with their values. Please just study a little bit of history. Hindus in India will constantly whine about a lack of Hindu unity, but they are utterly unwilling to actually think about what "unity" actually requires.

Add illiteracy to ignorance. The term "Hindu" can be applied broadly to spiritual traditions that draw from the same philosophical source material, and certainly includes orgs like BAPS. The question of whether these traditions can be accurately described as belonging to the same religion of "Hinduism" is the issue.

The existence of a term is meaningless. The question is what it refers to? Is it descriptively accurate, or is it just a projection of something you want to exist?

The decisive criterion is whether an organisation’s or cult’s foundational doctrines and practices implicitly or explicitly affirm the foundational Hindu metaphysical first principles based on Veda and remain substantially within Hindu religious framework. On that criterion, Sri Aurobindo, Arya Samaj, etc are within Hindu fold.
There is no equivalent of Hindu Pope. No sankaracharya automatically becomes "highest sanyasi". In Hinduism, "high" is associated with degree of inner realisation, not title or post. For example, when Sri Ramakrishna was alive, he was considered the highest Hindu sage.
Facebook and Instagram increasingly show amateur videos with insipid scripts in which insignificant people in slow, indifferent voices endorse products for online sales. The whole idea of models, ad films and professional advertising has been turned on its head. Bland, irritating and dumb.
