Shakti: 2005

7th year celebrations
Sarbojonin Durga Puja and Sanskritik Samity
Shipra Riviera, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad (UP)
Greetings
It seems like a miracle that we are speeding away in the globalization train, on the one hand while being tied to our rituals and traditions, on the other. Faith and devotion are one’s personal concern but by participating in this collective Durga Puja year after year, we help generate a large stock of social capital.
Fighting and slaying the evil force is an ancient Vedic imagery that we encounter in our day-to-day life. During these week-long Durga Puja festivities, we are reminded of the need to cling to this heroic task, even while immersing in the carnival of culture and creativity.
As Indian genius is being increasingly recognized the world over, we need to be a little more careful and curious about our own wisdom and religion. New meanings and methods must be empathized and an inclusive discourse encouraged. That would be one sure way to usher in peace and harmony.
